Our Brezels
A Brezel is a pastry especially popular in southern Germany. According to the legend, it was invented by a baker who had fallen in disgrace with the King of Württemberg and, in order to save his life, was told to create a pastry which the sun can shine through three times.
Brezels have a very special taste because of the lye which is a crucial part of the traditional brezel recipe. Brezels are made of standard white wheat which can be seen on the thicker part of it where the baker sets a short cut before the baking but the rest of it is beautifully brown due to the lye. It is especially crunchy at the thin parts of it which you will notice when taking a bite of it.
